Ship Security Officer (SSO)

We are seeking highly qualified and experienced Ship Security Officers (SSO) to join our teams. As an SSO, you will be responsible for providing professional security services to our clients' vessels, including superyachts and megayachts, ensuring the safety and security of the vessel, passengers, crew and onboard assets.

Job Summary:
We are seeking highly qualified and experienced Ship Security Officers (SSO) to join our teams. As an SSO, you will be responsible for providing professional security services to our clients' vessels, including superyachts and megayachts, ensuring the safety and security of the vessel, passengers, crew and onboard assets.
Location: Europe
Type: Full-time
Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular security assessments and risk analysis of the vessel.
• Develop and implement security plans and procedures to prevent unlawful acts against the vessel, crew and cargo.
• Coordinate and monitor security operations on board the vessel, including security drills and exercises.
• Liaise with port facilities, local authorities, and other relevant parties to ensure compliance with national and international security regulations.
• Train and educate crew members on security procedures and protocols.
• Monitor and maintain security equipment and systems on board the vessel.
• Act as the point of contact for security-related incidents and emergencies.
Requirements:
• Previous experience as a Ship Security Officer (SSO) or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of national and international maritime security regulations, including the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work irregular hours and be on call as required.
Education and Certifications:
• ISPS Ship Security Officer (SSO) certification
• STCW Basic Safety Training certification
• ENG1 Medical
• STCW Ship Security Awareness (MCA Approved)
• RYA Powerboat Level 2
